We left the Fairy Glen and headed Northward, heck of a road up from the ferry terminal at Uig but some amazing views once you're up there, you can easily see across to Harris on a good day.
For some reason we just kept going, never really settling on any one place to stop and explore. We did an almost emergency stop for this wee beauty.
A female Kestrel, she sat there quite happily as I craned my neck across from the driver's seat grabbing these shots through the passenger side window, hence not all perfect shots :)
A lot of people visiting Scotland for the first time, especially in camper vans and larger vehicles, just don't allow for some of our lovely winding wee roads!

The main road

Notice the Passing Places dotted along the way, a lot of strangers don't seem to know or care how they work. Also, be aware of the potential condition of the road, depending on the time of year.

Druim

We stopped a few times just to admire the view across to the mainland, probably around Torridon?

Snow capped mountains

I hadn't noticed but right below my angle of view was a Buzzard standing looking at us.
There was a weird, ethereal light as we approached the Trotternish Ridge, the sun is low in the sky at this time of year, maybe that contributed to it?
The tip of the Old Man of Storr can just be seen below the high ridge line, we really must come back and walk the Quiraing loop one day.
We climbed up to the Old Man man many years ago when we first met, an amazing landscape and scenery. The ridge dominates the skyline in the Northern half of Skye.
You can see that the entire ridge dominates but the Old man stands out clearly, will it be gone one day? There's a parking area and centre at the foot of the path leading up to the ridge, there was forest there when we visited, looks like it has all gone now.
It really is like a Lunar landscape when you are up there, huge boulders lie everywhere and bare, jagged volcanic rocks. It was way too busy for us, even at this time of the year so we carried on past.

We drove back into Portree, back to the hotel to sort out eating etc.
